Special Release! What God is Doing in Phnom Penh

We are glad to share the brand-new short film by Iris Global called "This is Iris Phnom Penh," which was officially released on October 1st!

This film offers an intimate, behind-the-scenes look into the heart of our mission, the communities we walk alongside, and the transforming power of Jesus in Cambodia.

You can watch the full video on YouTube at the bottom of this update. We hope it gives you a clearer window into the work here and encourages you in your own faith journey.

As we look back over the last few months, we are grateful for the ways God has guided our team, supported vulnerable children, and built up local believers.

July: Harvest School Team & Seasons of Transition

Iris Living Oaks Harvest School Visit: At the beginning of July, we hosted a visiting team from the Iris Living Oaks Harvest School Singapore. The team jumped straight into serving alongside our local staff in kids' clubs, adult discipleship groups, and our regular ministry sites. A particularly refreshing evening was spent in worship together at Chomno Coffee Co. The week concluded with a province outreach where the team joined local partners to pray for families, share the Gospel, and offer encouragement.

Honoring Long-Term Service: We said a fond goodbye to Anne, who completed over eight years of faithful service as a missionary with us in Cambodia. We are deeply grateful for her dedicated contribution to the team and ministry.

August: Celebrations & Safety for the Vulnerable

16 Baptisms in the Samaki Community: In August, we had the joy of witnessing 16 people baptized in the Samaki community. It was a meaningful day of celebration as these individuals publicly declared their faith in Jesus. Walking alongside these families and seeing them choose this step together has been a real encouragement to our team.

During August, four children living in high-risk environments were safely brought into protective care through the persistent work of our social workers, local authorities, and partner organisations. Two young boys were also connected with educational support to help them continue their schooling.

Team Internship: In August, we also welcomed a new young intern who is serving alongside one of our outreach teams while she gains new skills and experience.

Riverside Youth Soccer Expansion: Coach Paul expanded our Riverside soccer program into two separate age groups, allowing us to connect with both younger and older boys through consistent weekly sports and mentorship.

September: Team Expansion & Community Equipping

New International Team Members: In September, we welcomed several new missionaries to join our team for a trial period. They are bringing a variety of gifts and experiences as they learn the language, adjust to life in Cambodia, and build relationships with our Khmer team members.

We also took time for a staff team-building day — spending an afternoon bowling and sharing a meal to rest and reconnect.

Staff Children's Safeguarding Training: To ensure safety standards across all programs, our social work team ran a training workshop for all TMW staff and missionaries. The session covered how to identify signs of risk or abuse and the correct pathways for making internal referrals.

We are thankful to report that there were another 6 preventative rescues of children from unsafe situations in the month of September.

Provincial Encouragement Trip: A small team traveled to a team member’s home village in Kampong Cham. The visit focused simply on spending time with rural church leaders and local believers to pray with them and offer practical encouragement.

As we reflect on these last few months, we are reminded that every rescue, baptism, and relationship built is a testament to God’s faithfulness in Cambodia.

Thank you for being a part of the journey alongside us.

Please Pray With Us:

  • The "This is Iris Phnom Penh" Documentary: That the documentary helps people better understand the realities in Cambodia and inspires focused prayer for the nation.

  • New Missionary Transition: For smooth adjustment, health, and cultural transition for our new missionaries during their trial period.

  • Social Work Wisdom: For wisdom, emotional endurance, and safety for our social work team as they handle many ongoing child protection cases.

  • Ministry Vehicle Provision: We are praying for a suitable, reliable vehicle to assist with our daily NGO operations and provincial travel.

  • Community Discipleship: That those recently baptized and reached through outreach events continue to grow steadily in their faith and fellowship.

Thank you for walking alongside our team and the communities we serve in Phnom Penh.
